Six Cleantech Finland members nominated for Global Cleantech Later Stage Award
Finnish cleantech expertise is once again strongly represented in the Global Cleantech Later Stage Award. Ten Finnish cleantech companies have been nominated for the award, organised by the Global Cleantech Cluster Association (GCCA), which vets the most promising later stage companies across the globe and awards the best with the investment exposure and business support they need to succeed. The judges of the award have invested over EUR 3.5 billion into Cleantech globally.
This year Finland's ten nominee companies (Cleantech Finland members highlighted) are Forchem (biofuels), Gasek (biofuels), Valopaa (energy efficiency), Savo-Solar (solar energy), There Corporation (smart grids), Wello (tidal and hydropower), BMH Technologies (waste management), Liqum (water treatment), The Switch (wind energy), and Eniram (transportation). In 2011, the Finnish companies Moventas and Beneq won their categories and four other Finnish companies made it on the list of 30 finalists.
The finalists in the ten categories will be announced in the autumn and the winners will be announced in November at a clean energy conference held in Savannah, United States.
