Ruukki designs, manufactures and installs the steel frame and envelope structures for the new K-rauta Skanssi hardware store in Turku, Finland. The recently-launched Ruukki life panel, which is the most ecological steel sandwich panel on the market, will be used in the project.

The highly standardized Ruukki frame and envelope structure concept exceeds current energy-efficient requirement levels, significantly improves the lifetime energy efficiency of the building and ensures fire safety. The fully reusable and recyclable Ruukki life panel also cuts energy costs through guaranteed structural air tightness.

Construction work for the Skanssi store in Turku will start this spring, and the new store will open in spring 2013. The contract is worth around EUR 4 million.
