UPM and students from Helsinki Metropolia University of Applied Sciences are building a Biofore concept car that utilizes UPM’s innovative biomaterials. Many of the Biofore car's parts, which are traditionally made of plastic, are manufactured from UPM Grada thermoformable wood material and UPM ForMi cellulose fibre biocomposite.

Fortum inaugurates first waste-to-energy combined heat and power plant in the Baltics

Fortum has inaugurated a new combined heat and power plant in the city of Klaipeda, Lithuania. The plant uses municipal and industrial waste as well as biomass as fuels and is the first power plant of its kind in the Baltic countries.
