Metso to supply biomass plant to Finnish energy company

Metso will supply an 8 MW biomass-fired heating plant for district heat production to Savon Voima Oyj in Leppävirta, Finland. The plant will be fired by locally-sourced wood-based biomass, such as forest residue and peat.

Metso’s turnkey delivery will include process equipment and buildings as well as installation and construction work. The delivery will also include Metso’s flue gas scrubber.

Wärtsilä to power new Scottish RoPax ferry

Wärtsilä has been selected to supply the main engines and auxiliary generating sets for a new Scottish owned RoPax ferry ordered by Lloyds Banking Group and leased by Caledonian Maritime Assets, Ltd (CMAL).

The RoPax vessel, designed to carry 700 passengers and 143 cars or 26 trucks, is being built at the Flensburger Schiffbau Gesellschaft shipyard in Germany and scheduled to go into service in 2014.

Cargotec secures large order for all-electric Kalmar RTG cranes in Greece

Kalmar, part of Cargotec, has signed an order for twelve all-electric rubber tyred gantry cranes (RTGs) to Piraeus Container Terminal (PCT) SA in Greece.
