Ahmed Elkafoury – A leader in the field of urban transport planning, traffic control and highway design

Professor Ahmed Elkafoury is a governmental consultant and educator of Highway, Traffic, and Transportation engineering at Faculty of Engineering, Tanta University.

He is a leader in the field of urban transport planning, traffic control and highway design with developed by multinational experience, scientific publications, research projects and international collaboration, in addition to governmental and private sector consultation work.

“I am a traffic, highway and transportation engineer with a civil engineering background, solid understanding of pavement engineering, transportation planning and modeling, traffic theories, traffic safety, microscopic simulation, optimization and control, highway management and design, traffic impact studies.”

He also has expertise in junction design and assessment, traffic data collection and analysis, smart cities’ transportation systems design, intelligent transportation system engineering, nano materials for pavement engineering, pavement surface conditions, and superpave technologies.

He has participated in international research and consultation projects related to sustainability in highway and transportation with VTT-Finland, UN, and JICA.

He is a founder of Routes and MasarPlus consultants which are the first Egyptian expertise house includes all engineering consultancy of sustainability, smart cities, Highway, traffic, transportation, and infrastructure design.
