Máté Olti – Specialized in international relations and climate change

Máté Olti is a Hungarian environmental, sustainability and climate change consultant, international relations expert and international economist with a demonstrated history of working in the management consulting industry as well as in the public sector.

During the last four years, he has been working at Deloitte Hungary as senior consultant within the sustainability and climate change service line initiating and managing environmental regulatory consultancy, energy market analyses, greenhouse gas inventory methodology, climate risk analyses, corporate social responsibility and social impact strategies etc.

“I have also identified relevant subsidy opportunities from national, EU, EBRD and World Bank funds in renewable energy, plastics, water, automotive and agricultural sectors.”

Máté graduated from Corvinus University of Budapest as international relations expert (BA) and international relations analyst (MA) with specializations in the EU and diplomacy and become an International Economist (MA) with specialization in international business.

Besides his studies Máté also had the privilege to be intern, liaison officer during Hungary’s EU Presidency at the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2011) and at the Permanent Mission of Hungary to the UN in New York (2012).

Between January 2014 and July 2016 Máté was working at the Climate Policy Department as International Climate Policy Desk Officer, then Head of Unit of the Hungarian Ministry of National Development.

“Among others, I was responsible for the coordination of the development of Hungary’s climate policy legislation and strategies, including the preparation of climate policy reports based on international and EU legal obligations as well as National Contact Point for the EU’s LIFE Climate Action Sub-programme and Deputy Project Manager of Hungary’s LIFE Capacity Building Project.”
