“My primary motivation comes from inequality, climate change and biodiversity havoc. I think we have enjoyed too much time a sustainability stagnation, believing we could postpone change. As such, I am committing and partnering with companies to outperform themselves from a sustainability point of view, which is a real challenge in itself. Change needs to permeate the organization, and that may take some resistance and time – that we do not have.”

Daniel has collaborated with Circle Economy in the Built Environment Chapter of the Circularity Gap Report 2019 and has developed the Mexican Circularity Gap Report. He holds an M.Sc. in Industrial Ecology from Leiden University and TU Delft, a Carbon Markets Certification, and a Forest, Policy, Carbon and Management Certification from Michigan State University.

He holds under his portfolio SBTi analysis for real state and consumption companies, and GHG inventory studies at the corporate and city level. Daniel is also the co-founder of CMEI, a global think-tank working on industrial ecology related topics in Mexico and Latin America. As a hobby, he invests in renewable energy projects around the world, always with a scientific-based approach.

“It’s important to commit to the project with ethics, regardless of the company. We only have one shot of doing things right if it comes to sustainability. Better not waste.”
