“After a few years in the banking sector, the challenge of being at the forefront of a new industry within the South African context drew me to renewable energy.”

Using his financial background to assist multinational companies with their market entry strategy into the South African market as well as working with leading companies where renewable energy technology and cleantech is concerned has been a well-received challenge for him. 

“I joined Wesgro as a Portfolio Manager for renewable energy after I had been at Investec Specialist Bank in their Treasury division dealing with treasury products and liquidity risk within the bank.” 

Karabo has also had a role as Corporate Finance Analyst at a Private Equity firm with a fund focused on Mining Assets within Southern Africa and Relationship Manager within the Corporate Banking space with exposure to financial analysis, valuation, lending as well as client coverage within the Renewable Energy sector.
