Jarkko Vesa – “I am a fan of cross-disciplinary team bringing together people from different fields”

Dr. Jarkko Vesa has over 10 years of experience in the ICT industry, including software, hardware, semiconductors, at IBM, Nokia and AMD.

Jarkko has 20 years of experience in business development and management consulting e.g. at PriceWaterhouseCoopers PwC.

He is also the CEO and Chairman of the Board of management consulting company Not Innovated Here – Laboratory of Creative Destruction.

“Personally, I am a big fan of cross-disciplinary team, for instance, bringing together people from different fields. Of course, broad understanding of the subject matter and necessary skills to tackle the problems are also important.”

In his doctoral thesis, Vesa analyzed the mobile services industries in Japan and Finland.

Vesa says that the key is to have an open mind and actively look for solutions and not to focus too much on problems and obstacles.

“I am a fan of systems thinking, because behind the problem to be solved there is typically a complex system with lots of inter-dependencies and feedback loops.”
